본서는 크게 1부와 2부로 나뉩니다. 1부 AI 챗봇의 이해와 활용 편에서는 처음으로 챗봇에 입문하는 분들을 위해 인공지능 챗봇에 대한 개념 및 특성을 소개하고(1장), 기존 기술의 산물인 텍스트 챗봇(2장)과 AI 스피커(3장)를 각각 자세히 설명하고, 영어교육에 활용하는 데 도움이 될 다양한 정보를 제공하고자 하였습니다. 이를 통하여 독자들께서는 내가 무슨 챗봇을 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지에 대해 배우게 되실 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 1부에서는 우리나라 영어교육과정을 토대로 교실 수업에서 어떻게 챗봇을 활용할 수 있을지에 대한 수업 방향과 지도안을 소개하였습니다.
2부 AI 챗봇의 제작 편에서는 보다 적극적으로 챗봇을 활용하고자 하는 분들을 위해 전문적인 컴퓨터 지식이 없이도 챗봇을 직접 제작할 수 있는 챗봇 빌더를 소개하고(4장), 이를 활용하여 간단한 수업용 영어학습 과업을 설계하실 수 있도록 특별히 Google의 Dialogflow를 선정하여 기본 기능을 따라 할 수 있는 튜토리얼을 자세하게 제공하고 있습니다(5장). 또한, 2부 후반부에서는 챗봇 기반의 영어학습 과업 아이디어를 제시하고, 간단하게 실제 챗봇 대화를 만들어 볼 수 있도록 예시를 제시하였습니다(6장, 7장). 본서의 상세한 설명을 읽고 도전해보시면 기본적인 챗봇 구현이 생각보다 어렵지 않다고 생각하실 것입니다.
